On September 30^th, 2022, production of the maglev tram prototype developed by RTTE was completed at Hebei Manufacturing Workshop, located in Baoding, Hebei.

The design speed of the maglev tram is 80km/h. Since there is no friction between the wheels and the track, the interior noise of the tram is less than 71dB when running at the rated speed. This project pioneers the use of 2500mm width and 1600mm gauge on a maglev vehicle. In addition, the maglev tram is equipped with multiple high-end gears such as normal conductive electromagnetic levitation and short-stator linear motor traction technology to better adapt for smaller curve radius and various line conditions. Furthermore, the car-body innovatively uses a new composite material, successfully achieved the goal of light weighting while less cost at the same time.

The production of the maglev tram has made RTTE a company with two maglev technological platforms: 2000mm gauge medium capacity and 1600mm gauge low capacity, mastering the integration technology and key technologies of light maglev rail transit vehicles, and providing reliable technical support for undertaking maglev transportation projects in the future.
